The clarity simply gets muffled under layers of toxic inner dialog, self-limiting stories and conditioned mindsets. We got in touch with Annie Wyatt, yoga instructor and retreat host, to hear all about what you can expect on her transformational and detoxification retreats in India.
Annie Wyatt is the founder of Cape Town Retreats, where she has been running detoxification retreats for almost 3 years. Through her own personal experiences of detoxification, yoga cleansing techniques, fasting and eating cleanly, she was inspired to share her journey through the offering of Detox retreats.
"Fasting has long been used by those who have come before us as a tool for spiritual realisation." says Annie as she highlighted the physical and emotional detox you can experience when you give your body a nutrient dense experience, removing anything that is not essential to the experience. "Once the body starts cleaning itself out and becoming clear, the chance for realisation is increased." Since her first detox retreat in March 2015, Annie has hosted over 20 retreats.
Annie studied Traditional Indian Yoga under Yogacharya Dr Vishwas Mandlik in India. This classical yoga training incorporates a synthesis of Ashtanga Yoga and Hatha Yoga. It was during her training that her love for India was developed. Annie's teaching style focuses on using yoga as a means to develop consciousness and to make the mind body soul connection.
"Ever since my first Yoga Teacher's training course in India, I knew that I wanted to bring people to India to discover for themselves the amazing depth of wisdom that India has to offer." says Annie. Although she always wanted to bring people to India, she needed time to develop her retreats in South Africa before even thinking of running a retreat in India. After hosting numerous local retreats, Annie is finally hosting her first retreats in India, later this year.

Annie met her co-host, Veechi Shahi, 10 years ago where they immediately realised that they held the very same vision.
Veechi is joyous and deeply-connected Life and Wellness coach based in Mumbai. As the founder of A New Leaf, she offers Life and Wellness Coaching, Resilience training, Women Empowerment Workshops and Mindfulness programmes. With over 17 years of experience, Veechi guide individuals to take their own inward journeys to beyond their limitations and to bring out their finest.

"The retreats are designed to hold the guest in a gentle space so that each individual can experience their own transformation." says Annie, explaining that those who attend the retreat will detoxify, gain physical health, peace and tranquillity and the very important mental clarity that is required to shift and reach their highest potential self. Since your body is your temple, the food we eat plays an important role in loving and respecting ourselves. First, we must detoxify the body from environmental, emotional and physical toxins, then reactivate the energy through the chakras in order to shine.
Annie will be hosting two retreats to India, in September and October. Both retreats will give you the chance to receive the very best that India has to offer.
The first retreat is held at Swaswara Retreat Centre in Gokarna. Swaswara, meaning "your inner voice", is a place of natural harmony. This beautiful setting is the perfect place to release, refocus and recalibrate the self. Guests will be staying at a luxury villa just off Om beach, where you can hear the rhythm of the rolling waves and the meditative hum of birdsong. The very place is designed for holistic and transformational experiences where the ancient wiscom of Ayurveda and Yoga embrace you to rejuvinate your body and spirit.
The second retreat is held at Dewa Retreat in Rishikesh. Rishikesh, situated on the banks of the Holy Ganges River is the birth place of yoga. It is a place of ancient yogic and Ayurvedic practice and carries the energy of these ancient practices intact as they were intended by the saints and sages to be practiced. Guests will be given the opportunity to walk in the foothills of the amazing Himalayas as well as take part in sacred ceremonies that have been practiced for thousands of years.
