Yoga Exploration in India: Finding spiritual growth.
"YOGA IS A WAY OF LIFE – ALL LIFE IS YOGA".
The words of Sri Aurobindo are an inspiration to Ireen, who invites other practitioners to travel with her to India each year, to give them the opportunity to receive teachings by her Indian yoga masters themselves. We caught up with Ireen to hear all about what you can expect on her next India exploration.
Ireen has lived in India for many years. It was in India that her love for yoga blossomed and she started to embrace the opportunity to delve deeper into this beautiful art of living.
She graduated as a Yoga Siromani in the field of Raja Yoga at the Yoga Studio New Delhi under the guidance of Seema Sondhi. During her last year in India, she also started teaching Vinyasa yoga at the Yoga Studio. A natural progression from here found her completing a 500 level teachers training in Transformational Yoga under the guidance of Sri Swami Vidyanand. She became a teacher at his SriMa International School of Transformational Hatha Yoga, teaching 200 level teachers training. In 2016, she received the Grand Master qualification in Transformational Yoga.
During the past few years she also became student of Professor Ramesh Bijlani to indulge herself deeper into the Integral Yoga of Sri Aurobindo.
Over the last 5 years, Ireen has invited yoga practitioners of all levels and styles to travel with her to India to bring them back to the essence of yoga which she believes got lost in the western world.
Ireen will be leading her next exploration in September 2018. This Retreat is suitable for anyone who is truly interested and curious about yoga in al it's aspects.
Part one of the Yoga Exploration will be in the Aurobindo Ashram Delhi where guests will receive lectures based on the Integral Yoga of Sri Aurobindo. Topics covered include spiritual worldview, purpose of life, meditation and more. These lectures will be led by Professor Ramesh Bijlani, a retired medical doctor, writer, inspirational speaker, scientist and author of 12 books. Guests are invited to participate in all the ashram activities which are daily physical yoga classes, satsang, meditations, seeva. Opportunities are up to the attendees.
On Part two of the trip, Seema Sondhi of the Yoga Studio Hauz Khas will be taking all guests for a yoga retreat to Madhuban in the Himalayas You can expect hatha based daily yoga classes, meditation, pranayama and Asana based workshops. Excursions and guided hiking trips in Madhuban will be included. Seema Sondhi has been teaching yoga for the past 25 year. She has been certified from the International Sivananda Vedanta and Yoga Centre and studied under the tutelage of Sri Pattabhi Jois. The Yoga Studio offers various styles of Hatha based classes which guests will be able to attend during part one of the trip.
Over and above, there is also plenty of free time to explore Delhi, Madhuban and Indian culture. For those who want a day trip to Agra, it can be organized to visit the Taj Mahal and Red Fort.
The main aim of the Yoga Exploration 2018 is Yoga. Not only are guests offered wide opportunities of yoga practice, but also inspirational lectures that have been specifically designed for this group. The ashram is a place for spiritual growth and it is important that all guests respect the space.
Ireen is looking for likeminded, sincere yoga practitioners to join her in this September Yoga Exploration.
