Soul | Sea | Yoga Retreat, 22 -27 September, De Hoop Nature Reserve
Reconnect with nature and yourself and escape to a yoga and wellness retreat at the Southernmost tip of Africa
Cape Town-based House of Yoga is proud to host you on this exclusive journey – an exhilarating yet restorative experience for your body, mind, senses and soul, set in the pristine De Hoop Nature Reserve, a World Heritage Site. Relax in understated luxury in a private boutique oceanfront eco-villa; calm your mind with sunrise and sunset yoga sessions; unwind with massage and meditation; and partake in safaris, snorkelling, mountain biking and whale-watching.
Your journey will take place in one of Africa’s most beautiful yet lesser-known coastal reserves, the De Hoop Nature Reserve , on the world-renowned Garden and Whale Routes, just over 3 hours’ drive from Cape Town, South Africa.
Your home for the duration of the retreat is a boutique oceanfront eco-villa, where you will be cocooned in 5-star understated luxury. The villa, perched on top of limestone cliffs overlooking the sea, is completely off the grid and has been booked for our own private use. We will be looked after by the villa’s discreet staff, including our own hosts, private guide, butler, chef and housekeepers.
Meals and drinks
Delicious and nourishing meals, snacks and drinks will be prepared by the villa’s private chef, using locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients. Meals can be tailored to suit an individual’s dietary requirements.
Each meal is treated as an occasion and will be eaten ‘al fresco’ as much as our beautiful South African weather allows. Our guests can personally select wines from the wine cellar to accompany and complement their meals. All drinks are included, with the exception of the villa’s ‘Reserve List’.
Yoga & meditation
A grounding yet creative yoga and meditation journey will allow you to disconnect in order to reconnect with yourself. The sessions, led by Leigh , will focus on stimulating and balancing the seven chakras and will be held outdoors on the verandah or beach to allow you to engage with the natural elements of Earth, Water, Air, Fire and Space.
Each day will generally comprise two themed yoga sessions – a dynamic morning class before breakfast and a more restorative evening class before supper – and one meditation or yoga nidra session to inspire deep relaxation and connection. The yoga and meditation sessions are open and accessible to all levels of practitioners, including beginners.
Massage and reflexology
During the retreat, Karen will treat each of our guests to two 60-minute massages of their choice (Holistic, Sports, Pregnancy or Post-Partum Massage) or Reflexology (on request).
Each session will begin with a personal consultation to discuss your health history, preferences and goals in order to tailor the treatment to your needs.

About your hots - leigh
Sisters, Leigh and Karen Bosch, own and run House of Yoga – a much-loved yoga and wellness studio in Cape Town. With a background in ballet and dance, their dream was to create a space where others could come home to themselves – allowing them to nourish body and mind and engage more deeply with life.
Leigh is a yoga instructor whose teaching style weaves together aspects of her dance experience and the various types of yoga she has practiced over the past 15 years (including Hatha, Iyengar, Scaravelli, Ashtanga, Forrest and Yin). Her classes are an expression of, and ode to, the human body, mind, emotions and soul.
Karen has always loved working with people and, as a former primary school teacher, she taught at both special needs and mainstream schools in the UK and South Africa. As co-owner of House of Yoga and a former ballet dancer herself, she decided to take a leap of faith and follow her passion to help others live a healthy and fulfilling life.
Karen is a fully qualified massage and reflexology therapist, specialising in Holistic, Sports and Pregnancy massage, and Reflexology.
