OH SO YOGA invites you to join for a 7 day Yoga and Safari retreat at the Elephant Rock Lodge in Nambiti Big 5 Game Reserve.

South Africa is an incredible and diverse country that has a special place in our hearts. It is a place that makes your soul happy and humbles you as a human in ways that cannot be explained with words. Nature teaches us all we need to know about life, harmony, balance and strength, and from that the idea of nature and yoga retreat slowly started to develop.

The importance of conservation of wild animals and the natural beauty of the reserve allow us to have a deeper connection to nature and through it to ourselves. As you meditate and practice yoga with the sun rising and capture those special moments of game viewing on our daily safaris you become humbled by the beauty of the natural world.

The aim of the retreat is to switch off from the rat race and the constant noise of the city, immerse yourself fully in the wilderness and to learn to come back to those moments through yoga and meditation.

OUR HOME
Our home for the week will be Elephant Rock Lodge- it is a beautiful boutique lodge which can only accommodate a maximum of 10 guests. When you arrive you are greeted with a handshake and you leave with a hug, they really make you feel like you are part of the family. Nadia has been returning there since 2015 and we love it each time we stay at the lodge. It is located on a hill overlooking a water hole where Elephants often come to drink and play in the water. The lodge will be booked by us exclusively. With no tv's, no radio, no newspapers and wifi only available in a designated spot- you can really escape the rat race and switch off from the outside world. The sun deck will become our Yoga Shala as we practice and meditate under the African sky.

6:30-7:30 Morning Asana Practice

8:30-9:30 Breakfast

time to relax, sleep, read, swim, spot animals from the viewing deck, book a spa treatment, sunbathe and enjoy the bush

13:30- 14:15 Yin Yoga

14:30- 15:30 Lunch

15:30/16:00 Evening Game Drive

19:00/19:30 Dinner

About your hosts

Nadia Maritz is a 300H RYT Hatha, Mandala Vinyasa and Yin Yoga Qualified Instructor. Her love for Yoga begun in 2011 when she first attended Yoga at her local gym. Since then she found that she would love to start teaching and sharing the benefits of yoga she felt herself. Her classes focus on the holistic aspects of yoga and are suitable for beginners and regular practitioners alike. Nadia believes that yoga is not reserved for a specific body type or just for the flexible people. Yoga is for every body and anyone can come to the class and enjoy the session. Nadia has experience in teaching small and large groups alike ranging in all abilities and ages from teenagers to 80+.

Stacey Howe is the original Yoga Instructor and Founder of OH SO YOGA. Stacey is passionate about Yoga, meditation,  nutrition and living a healthy lifestyle — attitudes we value greatly at  OH SO YOGA.
