200 hour Yoga Teacher Training, June/July, Greece

 This course offers an integrated training approach. Incorporating elements from many different Yoga styles, techniques and philosophies. With the main focus on classic Hatha Yoga. The training style of this course is a practical training method that provides a holistic approach to Yoga. Information, techniques and theory are openly discussed and practiced.

It is our intention to support your personal growth which will reflect as you develop your own unique and confident style of teaching.

Theoretical and practical examinations will take place throughout the course. Class tests will be written during lectures and assignments will also be given. A minimum of 90% class attendance is required. At the end of the course you will receive a certificate (accredited with Yoga Alliance International) from Theresa Moodie if all the criteria have been met.

After this course you can apply with the Yoga Alliance International and the Yoga Teachers Fellowship for membership.

You are welcome to do the course purely to deepen your own understanding of Yoga but you will still be required to write the same tests and practical exams for those wanting to teach. Physical, mental and emotional commitment are expected of all students that want to enrol for the Teachers Training Course.

Basic outline of practical and theoretical modules

  • History and Philosophy of Yoga, The Eight Limbs of Yoga, The different paths of Yoga, Dualism and Non-dualism – the true self and the universal consciousness

  • Functional Anatomy and Physiology 

  • The Physical Practice 

  • Teaching Practice

  • Teaching Techniques: Sequencing, Adjustments and demonstrations

  • Pranayama / Breathing

  • Ayurveda principles

  • The energetic systems

  • Integral Yoga

  • The business of Yoga

Monday to Saturday you will enjoy a variety of 2 hour Yoga sessions. Including asanas, pranayama and daily meditations. These classes will compliment the theoretical modules and your final teaching exams. Practical sessions every morning – Mainly Hatha style classes with introductions to Vinyasa & Yin classes


International Standards

For those wanting to become accredited yoga teachers you will be assisted in registering with the Yoga Alliance International. This is a once off fee of 200 Euros and will give you life time membership.

This course meets all the criteria for international yoga standards and is fully accredited by Yoga Alliance International (based in India).

If you are looking for a strong foundation in the science of teaching Yoga, that doesn’t limit or restrict your own personal journey. This is the course for you.

You will be taught in a non-dogmatic way. By fully immersing yourself in the program while living on the island of Patmos, we will encourage a path of introspection and mindfulness. Giving you not only the skills but the environment to really own and explore living in each and every moment.

Saturdays 7am to 11:30am

Requirements :

It is preferable to have at least one year of Yoga practice

About Your Hosts

Theresa Moodie has been working in the health and wellness industry for more than a decade. She is passionate about practicing the philosophy that a healthy mind is a healthy body. She offers a unique blend of holistic, mind body awareness which enables her clients to make lifelong change towards a healthier way of living. When she is not working you’ll find her enjoying yoga classes in the park, practicing martial arts, learning to longboard and keeping fit.

Accommodation for the Courses at eCala Village ECALA village is located in Meloi bay. A 3 minute drive or 20 minute walk from the bustling port of Skala. Skala has several shops, tavernas and places to explore. This in contrast to Meloi baby which has very little activity. Meloi bay offers breathtaking sunrises and ideal swimming bays. All this on the doorstep of your geodesic dome. The Geodesic domes are designed to create the lowest possible footprint possible on the island. But sets the standard of both luxury and comfort. Fall asleep every night while looking up at the stars through your skylight.
