Become a Yoga Teacher with I Believe Yoga Studio

Carol Twigg from I Believe Yoga Studio is excited to be hosting an online 200hour Yoga Training this June!

Carol’s journey in yoga started in 2010 when she decided (after much convincing from her sister) to try out a yoga class. Coming from a gymming background, she was initially skeptical. She walked into Yoga Experience in Illovo (Yoga experience), feeling intimidated and completely out of place. As she walked out the class, she knew it was the best thing she has every done. It was in this moment she knew that this was what she wanted to do with her live - become a yoga teacher.

After 6 years of practicing, she completed her Bikram Yoga Teacher Training. “The yoga teacher training was the most incredible journey I had ever been on, I thought I was doing yoga, little did I know yoga was doing me.” She continued to study in the styles of Vinyasa and Yin, as she craved to learn more.

Carol opened a home studio 5 years ago and has relocated to a bigger premises to accommodate the growing number of students. Although she loves teaching classes, she found that there was only so much information that could be shared within an hour. She started running workshops and retreats to share more… and now a yoga teacher training! “The benefits of the practice are real and my students are growing on and off their mats in leaps and bounds.

If you are looking for traditional yoga teacher training, then this is the training for you! Focusing on the history, the knowledge, the start, the beginning of where it all began. You can expect to take a deep dive into history as well as philosophy. You will deepen your own understanding of yoga to make better decisions in life that support our health and happiness.

“While all teacher trainings are beneficial for every practitioner and student of the practice, the decisions lie with the student to make a choice as to who they would like to train with.” says Carol. Her focus will be on the benefits the practice and connecting with students on a deeper level; knowing that everybody has a different body and we need to know when and how to work with our own bodies before we can teach someone else about theirs.

Students will go back to basics and learn in a way they understand, anatomy in terminology that they understand and we will discover learning techniques that work for each student. You can expect to work hard and train even harder.

This Yoga teacher training is internationally recognised through the yoga alliance. You will have confidence and be fully equipped with the skills to teach yoga with ease and knowledge to lead a safe well-informed yoga class.

One unique feature of this training is that it will also run online. Online training allows you to maintain balance in your daily life and able to learn in the comfort of your own surroundings. Lectures will be recorded so should you miss out on a lecture you are able to catch up when you have that extra time.

When asked what advice she would like to share with potential trainees, Carol said “ Don’t have any expectations and allow the process to happen, don’t make plans of how you think your future will be after doing a teacher training. Yoga will cultivate itself in your life and take you on a journey you didn’t know you were about to go on. Your purpose will find you and will start to grow like a lotus flower.

“Every struggle is like mud - there are always some lotus seeds waiting to sprout.” “Like the lotus flower blooms in the mud, and in the dark of night.”
