5 Restorative Poses using your desha Bolster

17 June 2022

As the winter months approach, our go-to means for relaxation is Restorative Yoga! Restorative Yoga makes use of props to support the body in various poses. Each pose is held for longer period of time (anything from 3-10 minutes).

If you are interested in adding more restoration to your home practice, here are a few of our favourite restorative poses using our desha bolsters!

Reclined Butterfly

Bringing the soles of the feet together, place the bolster behind you. Recline the spine over the bolster. For additional support, you can place blocks under the thighs.

Folded Deer Pose

Starting at a 90/90 shape in the legs, place the bolster next to your front hip, and lie over the boster.

Wide Legged Seated Forward Fold

Bringing your legs into Wide Legged Seated Fold, place the bolster between the legs length ways. We like placing the further end on a block to create an incline.

Supported Sphinx Pose

The desha Cylindrical Bolster is a great support under the chest. Allow the head to relax down, or you can place the forehead on a block.

Supported Savasana

My absolute favourite! A bolster under the knees is the perfect addition to your savasana pose!
