Ayurvedic Workshops with Dr Zohreh Sadeghi


Ananda Sanctuary are thrilled to share that Dr Zohreh Sadeghi will be hosting 3 workshops at Ananda Sanctuary – each workshop is 2 hours followed by an ayurvedic lunch of dhal and rice or vegetarian soup and fresh bread.  Do. join us for this opportunity to learn more about Ayurveda and how to incorporate with practice information and in community.

1/3 : Saturday, 25 June 11am – 1pm (lunch served after) – Introduction to Ayurveda:

Ayurveda is a holistic system of medicine, a lifestyle medicine, that focuses on bringing balance and health within the individual—body, mind, and spirit. It focuses on human 

beings as a whole recognizing that all of our systems are interconnected, and in order for us to achieve health we need our entire beings to come into balance.

Come learn about the basic principles of Ayurveda, during this workshop you will learn about the Doshas, Vata, Pitta, and Kapha and their basic characteristics. We will talk in depth about how these three energetic qualities manifest within our bodies when in balance and when out of balance. You will gain a deeper insight about the connection between the body and mind, and how Ayurveda can help you tune into the wisdom of your own body.

2/3 : Saturday, 2 July 11am – 1pm (lunch served after) – Achieving Healthy Digestion with Ayurveda:

Digestion is at the heart of an Ayurvedic practice, key to optimal health is achieved by maintaining a healthy digestive system. Agni (digestive fire) is the key to understanding digestion in Ayurveda. During this workshop we will focus on the Agni and its role in maintaining a healthy digestive system. You will gain a deeper understanding of Ama (toxic built up according to Ayurveda), and how to prevent it from accumulating within the system. You will also learn how Ayurveda views the mind and the powerful role it plays in our digestive system. You will walk away with useful tools that will help you strengthen your digestive fire (Agni) and prevent major ailments from occurring as the main goal of Ayurvedic medicine is prevention of disease.

3/3 : Saturday, 9 July 11am – 1pm (lunch served after) : Beauty and skin care in Ayurveda: 

There are three aspects of beauty in Ayurveda: outer beauty, inner beauty, and everlasting beauty. In order to achieve all three one needs to learn how to nourish inner beauty from within with proper diet, lifestyle, exercise, etc. as well as maintain a healthy skin regimen. During this workshop we will focus on beauty and skin care from an Ayurvedic perspective.

You will be involved in hands-on learning, and practical demonstrations of classical beauty formulations. This will include preparing herbal masks, scrubs, and peels that we will use during the workshop so you could test them on your skin. You will walk away with wonderful recipes of the products we make for your skin type.
