About your host:

Zaakiyah Bhikha is a 550hr yoga teacher and social justice activist who has been teaching yoga since 2018. Since then she has co-founded Yoga In Colour, a movement striving for inclusivity, diversity, empowerment & healing within the broader yoga community.

Zaakiyah currently teaches her Yoga Is Social Justice module on Be Yoga YTT. She has also represented South Africa at the diversity summit for yoga, talking about Why Yoga Is Social Justice. Identifying as a change agent and an individual who believes in equality in all spaces, she now focuses energy on educating individuals on the importance of social justice in the yoga community.

Her inclusive view of yoga asana and yoga is social justice inspires her to empower through the teachings of yoga wisdom – regardless of race, shape, class, or level of ability.
