Umoya BreathFest

  • Cradle of Humankind, South Africa (map)

The Umoya BreathFest is the first event of its kind in Africa. A gathering of breathwork and health practitioners, academics, artists, activists, educators, traditional healers, and wisdom seekers who work on the intersections of social sciences, humanities, health sciences, arts, and activism to meet in person to learn, grow, share, connect and co-create. It is a forum for learning and shared experience for all those interested in discovering the potential of breath for personal healing, an agent for societal change and what it means to inspire a healing informed society.

This 5-day collective has been curated to offer an experience of what it means to support a healing-informed society through talks, workshops, immersive nature experiences, embodiment practices and conscious breathing in an ancient land and timeless stars inspired by the energy of the African land and wisdom of its people.

We invite you, as part of a community who hold a shared intention of healing, whole-heartedness and hope to experience a vast range of breathwork practices and styles, participate in generative dialogue. We have crafted the programme to offer you both your own personal experience of the breath and the opportunity to come together and co-create pathways of healing within the systems in which we live and work.

We feel called to gather in the Cradle of Humankind, where our collective umbilical cord lies buried, a fitting space to hold that which is ready to be birthed as systems collapse around us.

We would love you to join us at our inaugural festival that celebrates that we are one diverse species across the globe, with our roots in Africa all sharing the same common language of the breath.

Join for the full experience or for the 2-night or day options.
